Vitamin B5 May Lower Cholesterol

NEW JERSEY—A recent study conducted at Princeton University found that consuming vitamin B5 could help lower bad cholesterol.
The study included 32 participants; they were split up into 2 groups. One group was assigned to consume vitamin B5 and the other group was given a placebo (not vitamin B5). The researchers analyzed their cholesterol levels for 16 weeks.
The team found that those who consumed vitamin B5 significantly lowered their total cholesterol by the end of the 16 weeks, compared to those who consumed the placebo. Specifically, the researchers found that those who consumed vitamin B5 on average decreased their bad cholesterol (LDL) levels by 11 percent.
According to the University of Maryland , the following foods contain high amounts of vitamin B5:
·         Vegetables (corn, broccoli, avocados)
·         Chicken
·         Milk
·         Split peas, peanuts, soybeans, sunflower seeds
If you are interested in lowering your cholesterol levels, you might want to consider adding vitamin B5 to your daily diet.

Have a great day.
