Could Nuts Lower Disease Risks?

Harvard University did a study not very long ago to find out whether or not consuming nuts  could help prevent heart disease, and cancer.

The study reviewed about 90,000 or more participants. These researchers were very analytic on the amount of nuts they consumed and how often they consumed them.

To my understanding, the team noticed that those who ate nuts on a daily basis were healthier overall, with much  lower rates of obesity, lower cholesterol, lower blood sugar, and much smaller waists. Here are a few  benefits associated with adding nuts to your diet:

· Brain function: The vitamins and minerals found in nuts improve blood flow to the brain to help with cognitive tests.
· Heart health: Nuts contain monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which lower bad cholesterol and raise good cholesterol.
· Weight: Nuts contain high protein and fiber that fill you up and keep you feeling full for a longer period of time.
· Diabetes: Nuts have a low glycemic index, and their protein and fiber help prevent spikes in blood sugar.
· Cancer: Nuts are high in folate, niacin, vitamin E, potassium, and calcium. These vitamins and nutrients help fight inflammation, which is the leading cause for several chronic illnesses.

The researchers assessed however, that  because nuts are high in calories, you must eat them in proportions (an ounce per day).  Also, here are some of the recommended ways to consume nuts:

1. Replace tortilla chips with 28 peanuts
2. Replace potato chips with 48 pistachios
3. 24 almonds mixed with one-quarter of a cup of dried fruit
4. Toss 20 hazelnuts (toasted) with vegetables (broccoli or green beans)

If you are thinking of ways to  lower your risk for heart disease or cancer and other potential  illnesses, you should try adding nuts to your daily diet.

Have a great day and stay healthy.

A Healthy Holiday Breakfast

Potato Cakes With Apple Sauce.

Here is another warm, tasty and healthy breakfast idea you can try during the holidays. You will need:

A few akane diced apples 4-6 may be enough depending on your needs, 1/4 cup of honey, cinnamon sticks, cinnamon powder, 4 peeled and grated potatoes, 2 whipped eggs, 3 ounces of butter, salt, black pepper and a 1/4 cup of cream or milk.

Method:  bring a cup of water to boil with a half cinnamon stick and honey, add diced apples and let simmer on medium heat for your apple sauce.

Ring excess juice from grated potatoes in a clean towel and place in bowl, pour in whipped eggs and milk, add salt and pepper then stir a little.

Heat frying pan with butter and with a table-spoon, drop in small portions and let cakes fried to golden brown on each side.

After apple sauce is simmered to preferred consistency, add a dash of cinnamon powder, turn over and replace lid and let cool. Now you can place your potato cakes on plate with a little of your apple sauce on it and enjoy. Mmmmmmmmmmm delicious!

Have a great day.

What Happen While We Eat And After?

Unfortunately, a lot of individuals do not understand the digestion processes of the food they eat and that it contains the nutrients that serve as building blocks, and provide energy and nourishment throughout their bodies. Hence, very little thought is given to what is being consumed on a daily basis. This blog is served to shed some light on any misunderstanding you might have with the processes.

In food, nutrients are contained in large molecules that are chemically and physically bound together. Digestion is the process of breaking down these tightly bound molecules into individual nutrients that can be taken into your body and used to support its functions. Simply defined, digestion is cutting things down to a size in which they can be absorbed into your body.

Digestion occurs in the gastrointestinal tract—the 20 to 30 foot long tube extending from your mouth to your anus. Whatever you eat flows through this system, but until it is absorbed through the intestinal tract, the nutrients in food are physically outside of your body.

This is because the gastrointestinal tract functions like an internal skin and provides a barrier between whatever you ingest from the outside (external) world and your internal bloodstream and cells. Part of the digestion process, then, is the selective transport of nutrients through the cell wall that lines your intestinal tract.

Once transported across the intestinal barrier to the inside of your body, these nutrients can enter your bloodstream and circulate to all of your tissues to maintain organ function, support your need for energy, and provide for growth and repair of new cells and tissues.

To be cont'd.

Have a great day.

(2)

While digestion can be simply defined, its mechanics are quite complex. This is because your food contains so many different sizes, shapes, and types of individual molecules, all tightly entwined, and because each of these types of molecules is chemically distinct.

Digestion uses both mechanical processes, such as chewing and grinding, which help separate the different types of molecules, as well as chemical processes, in the form of enzymes that can cut the bonds within the molecules, to release small nutrients into your system.

An analogy is two or more necklace chains of different types twisted, knotted, and interlocked together. Digestion would be the process of untwisting and separating the chains, usually requiring cutting them in a couple of places, and then pulling them apart and further cutting each of them into many smaller pieces, so they can become building blocks for other necklace chains.

Enjoy your day.

Baby Boomer's Health

One of the things that i think worries baby boomers most is to improve their health. They have goals to lose weight, increase muscle mass, change their bodies, or just be healthier in general. Very little of them, however, have a concept of where to start.

In fact, i think the first place to start is to assess the nutrients you put in your body. This will directly impact the health results expectations. Besides, keep in mind that simply exercising a few times a week won't make any significant change unless it's being fueled with quality nutrition and supplementation.

It is a fact that you can't be healthy if you don't have the right things inside you: vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, healthy fats, and lean protein. These are the building blocks for a healthy diet, healthy life, and an exercise program that delivers optimal results.

As baby boomers, supplementation could be critical because it's almost impossible for people to get sufficient amounts of greens, vitamins, and minerals in their regular diet. Based on professional opinion, greens and antioxidant supplementation are ideal and easy, allowing users to get their required daily intake in one scoop. Mixing it with lean protein in the morning provides for a quick, nutritious breakfast that promotes health, regularity, and will set you on the right path to a better life. Taking an omega-3 fish oil supplement and multivitamin is also important to make sure you get what you need to improve the functioning of your body.

All of these things work together to create an optimal environment for your body to work efficiently. These nutrients remove waste from your cells, protect them from infection, and work to clean out your system by improving nutrient absorption and functionality.

It's also important to remember that if you're on a new exercise program or have just begun to improve your diet, it might take some time for your body to react. Some benefits may be more immediate-like regularity but many will take time as they begin to get to work and fix any existing problems.

Hopefully, before too long however, you'll begin to notice results. And you'll likely feel better, healthier and truly begin to experience the results of your exercise. Good health to you all.

Have a great day.

Ever Tried The Nordic Diet?

The  Nordic diet consists of oily fish (herring, salmon), grape seed oil, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, venison (deer) meat instead of beef, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.

One study analyzed the different health benefits that consuming the Nordic diet brings. They noticed that switching to grape seed oil is an essential part of the diet because it is rich in omega-3 fats (reduces inflammation). They also found that the berries are packed with vitamins and antioxidants that help with anti-ageing. In addition, the researchers found that venison meat is a very good source for iron and provides long-lasting energy. Lastly, the team found that those who followed the diet lost significantly more weight compared to those who did not follow the diet.

According to dietitian, Geraldine Georgeou:

The easiest way to reap benefits of the Nordic diet is by replacing wheat with rye as it is packed with slow-digesting fibre and prevents sharp rises in blood sugar that create food cravings.”

If you are interested in receiving some of these great health benefits, you might want to consider following the Nordic diet it's quite possible you'll enjoy it.

Have a good day.

Learn from Mayor Ford

Over the past couple of weeks you may have heard the name Rob Ford. He's the mayor of Toronto, Canada, and has been making international headlines in recent weeks regarding a number of questionable activities.

In a brief recall, Ford has recently admitted to smoking crack-cocaine and excessive drinking following the release of a series of videos depicting him in an intoxicated state. Earlier this week at City Hall, he ran over a fellow council member in an apparent fit of rage in what has been the latest in a series of recent blunders.

Physically, Ford is severely out of shape. He is extremely obese and I can only speculate, but based on his appearance and the evidence of drug and alcohol abuse, he's in poor health. What's interesting about Ford, however, is that in a series of interviews, he's denied the fact that he has any problems outside of his weight.

This is a very important point because in order to get healthy, one must  cknowledge they are unhealthy. Living in a state of denial or ignorance is a major impediment to seeking help and making appropriate lifestyle changes. In order for your body to be healthy, your mind must be healthy.

Enjoy your day.

Want To Optimize Your Health? Start Today

Are you serious about improving your health and feeling better? The reason I ask is because for many people that I talk to, health improvement is a short-lived goal. It becomes a periodic trend that people adopt for a number of weeks until they eventually abandon the principles they planned to include in their daily lives.

If you're one of the people who has the best intentions when it comes to adopting a healthier lifestyle, but has difficulty sticking to it, try and stay on the right path this week.

So how do you make sure you're successful? The first thing is knowing that it will be difficult in the early going. Any changes to a regular routine can cause problems and there is always a period of adjustment. The key is to make the commitment to yourself and work hard to stick to the plan you've adopted.

Your plan should include realistic expectations and clear goals. This way, you will stay motivated, know what you're after and be able to track progress. After some time your goals may change as you see improvements.

Enjoy your day.

Any improvements to your overall health should revolve around diet, nutrition, exercise, and supplementation. All of these elements work together to provide balance, fight injury and sickness, and improve the functionality and ability of your body.

When it comes to supplementation, there are obviously a lot of options and it can be confusing about where to start. As far as I'm concerned, the foundational supplements of good health are omega-3s, a good multivitamin, and whey protein. The rest are really up to you. After all, everybody is different and requires various supplements to help in areas where they may be deficient.

The reason why I choose those three supplements as an important foundation of good health is because they cover a lot of bases. Omega-3s can be found in fish oil supplements and are affordable. Omega-3 fatty acids help improve your metabolism, repair brain tissue and aid in brain function, manage your weight and improve overall body function.

A good multivitamin ensures you get the vitamins and minerals you might not be getting from your nutrition, which aid in the performance and functionality of your body.

Whey protein is often considered a supplement that is specific to athletes, but the truth is that it has a number of health benefits to everybody especially aging people who need increased amount of protein to maintain muscle mass. Whey protein provides a number of amino acids, helps to maintain muscle, and is very affordable.

The supplements listed above are also scientifically proven to be effective. The facts to support their benefits are solid, and there is little evidence to suggest otherwise.

Make this the week you set and stick to your health goals. By doing the right things and putting the right fuel in you, you can improve your health, achieve your goals and raise your quality of life.

Have a good  day.

Ways To Boost Your Memory

Everyone falls victim to a mental slip from time to time. You're in the car driving and forget where you're going, you stand in the middle of the living room and haven't the slightest clue why you're there, or you open up the refrigerator door and find your television remote. You may laugh it off at first, but after a couple of incidents you may start to wonder if there is something seriously wrong.

Most of the time you're fine. Nobody's brain fires at 100% all the time and little mental slip-ups are common. However, if it's happening more frequently, you're feeling tired, confused and things just aren't as smooth as they used to be, it may be time to think about making some changes to improve your brain function. There are a number of things you can do to improve the performance of your brain, and here are a few of them.

One of the most important is ensuring you receive adequate sleep. Too little sleep will ultimately make it more difficult to concentrate, put you in a worse mood and weaken your immune system. Furthermore, sleep cleans your brain of toxic proteins and flushes them out of your system, allowing for improved brain function. These toxic proteins are important to remove because of their connection to Alzheimer's disease.

Another important factor in maintaining a high-powered brain is exercise. Both physical and mental stimulation are great for the brain because they keep it active, engaged and on point. Physical exercise is beneficial because it pumps fresh blood to the brain carrying the nutrients it needs to perform. Exercise helps build a healthy heart, in turn allowing it to effectively supply adequate blood to your brain for improved function. Furthermore, exercise releases hormones and endorphins that make you feel better.

Finally, a healthy balanced diet contributes to improved brain function. The type and amount or food you eat contributes substantially to how you brain performs. You need to be well fed with lean protein, healthy fats and fruits and vegetables for vitamins and antioxidants to achieve optimal performance. A diet based on poor quality calories like sugar and too many carbohydrates can cause problems with performance, as can eating too few calories per day.

Enjoy your day.

Sugar Can Be Deadly

There is plenty of information available about the dangerous effects of sugar on the body. It can lead to unwanted weight gain, diabetes, hypertension, insulin resistance, and a number of other health problems. Now, another strike against Sugar has recently been explored, this time regarding its affect on your brain.

A new German study is showing that high blood sugar levels are associated with memory problems, even in people who don't have diabetes. This means that blood sugar problems don't have to be as chronic or powerful as they are for a diabetic for individuals to experience the effects.

Researchers took MRI scans of the hippocampus area of the brain in a number of subjects. The hippocampus is the part of your brain that is responsible for memory, and they noticed it was smaller in people with higher levels of sugar in their blood. Subjects were given a memory test, too, and the people with higher sugar levels-the smaller hippocampus-were able to recall fewer of the words featured in the test.

Try stevia as an alternative to sugar.

Have a great day friends.

Store Your Fresh Basil

How to Select and Store

Whenever possible, choose fresh basil over the dried form of the herb since it is superior in flavor. The leaves of fresh basil should look vibrant and be deep green in color. They should be free from darks spots or yellowing.

Even through dried herbs and spices like basil are widely available in supermarkets, you may want to explore the local spice stores in your area. Oftentimes, these stores feature an expansive selection of dried herbs and spices that are of superior quality and freshness compared to those offered in regular markets. Just like with other dried herbs, when purchasing dried basil, try to select organically grown basil since this will give you more assurance that it has not been irradiated (among other potential adverse effects, irradiating basil may lead to a significant decrease in its vitamin C and carotenoid content.)

Fresh basil should be stored in the refrigerator wrapped in a slightly damp paper towel. It may also be frozen, either whole or chopped, in airtight containers. Alternatively, you can freeze the basil in ice cube trays covered with either water or stock that can be added when preparing soups or stews.

Dried basil should be kept in a tightly sealed glass container in
a cool, dark and dry place where it will keep fresh for about six months.

Enjoy your day.

History of Basil

Basil now grows in many regions throughout the world, but it was first native to India, Asia and Africa. It is prominently featured in varied cuisines throughout the world including Italian, Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian.

The name "basil" is derived from the old Greek word basilikohn, which means "royal," reflecting that ancient culture's attitudes towards an herb that they held to be very noble and sacred.

The tradition of reverence of basil has continued in other cultures. In India, basil was cherished as an icon of hospitality, while in Italy, it was a symbol of love.

Uniqueness of The Basil Herb

Description

Basil is a highly fragrant plant whose leaves are used as a seasoning herb for many different types of foods. Basil has become one of the most recognizable herbs ever since pesto, the mixture of basil, pine nuts and parmesan cheese, has become popular.

Basil has round leaves that are oftentimes pointed. They are green in color, although some varieties feature hints of red or purple. Basil looks a little like peppermint, which is not surprising since they belong to the same plant family.

There are more than 60 varieties of basil, all of which differ somewhat in appearance and taste.

while the taste of sweet basil is bright and pungent, other varieties also offer unique tastes: lemon basil, anise basil and cinnamon basil all have flavors that subtly reflect their name. The scientific name for basil is Ocimum basilicum.

Have a healthy day.

'Basil' A Natural Anti-Inflammatory

Anti-Inflammatory Effects

The eugenol component of basil's volatile oils has been the subject of extensive study, since this substance can block the activity of an enzyme in the body called cyclooxygenase (COX).

Many non-steriodal over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS), including aspirin and ibuprofen, as well as the commonly used medicine acetaminophen, work by inhibiting this same enzyme. (In the case of acetaminophen, this effect is somewhat controversial, and probably occurs to a much lesser degree than is the case with aspirin and ibuprofen).

This enzyme-inhibiting effect of the eugenol in basil qualifies basil as an "anti-inflammatory" food that can provide important healing benefits along with symptomatic relief for individuals with inflammatory health problems like rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel conditions.

You cannot go wrong with this herb plant, if you have never tried it, give a try,  I love it.

Have a healthy day.

Sleep Deprivation

There is  definitely an obvious link between sleep and exercise because over and over again, it is noted that people who exercise during the day tend to fall asleep quicker and much longer than people who are less active with no exercise during their day.

If you are experiencing sleep deprivation there are a few things you can try to help you get sufficient sleep at nights such as:

·        Time your exercise 5-6 hours before bedtime; a drop in body temperature helps sound sleep.
·        Exercise vigorous enough to break a little sweat
·        Stick with it, to see improvement in your sleep.

If you are interested in improving your sleep, you might want to consider exercising at least 4 times per week.

Have a blessed day.

Avoid Memory Decline

Study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and published online in the Journal of Biological Chemistry found that zinc could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. (clumping in the brain).
It is noted that the main cause of Alzheimer’s disease comes from proteins losing function (cell death)

The study analyzed the affect zinc had on yeast cells when there was either an excess or deficiency of
zinc. The researchers noted that yeast cells and human cells share several similarities.

The team found that a shortage of zinc causes cellular stress, which in turn causes proteins to become defective and begin clumping together. They also found that when there is an excess of zinc “protein chaperones” are created that get rid of the dangerous reactive species that damage the proteins, and help prevent them from clumping in the brain.

Some foods that are high in zinc include, oysters, shitake mushrooms and spinach. The researchers also noted that zinc also helps boost your immune system, balance blood sugar and control you metabolism.

If you are interested in minimizing your risk for Alzheimer’s disease and enjoying other health benefits, you might want to consider adding zinc to your diet.

Have a healthy day.

Memory Boost

A lot of people seem to be concerned about being forgetful, surprisingly, some are in their teen years, twenties, thirties, and upwards. Why is this happening? For the most part it could be a deficient in some vitamins. And for the most part, these can be derived from foods we can eat regularly.

Memory loss or forgetfulness can be reversed or regulated by making sure you have more vitamin K in your diet daily, its that easy. Vitamin K can be found in many different foods including spinach, broccoli, brussels sprout, romaine lettuce, collard greens and parsley.

If you are interested in boosting your memory performance, then you might want to add more vitamin K to your diet if you have not been doing so. Here's a quick recipe i use quite often.

1 cup chopped broccoli, 1 cup chopped Brussels sprout, 2 cloves chopped garlic, black pepper, 1/2 tsp.turmeric, olive oil and salt..

Heat olive oil in sauce pan throw in garlic, turmeric, sprinkle of salt and black pepper. Saute a couple seconds then add Brussels sprout and broccoli. Saute for about 5 min. That's it, ready to eat with rice or whatever you like. You can always do quick stir fry or lightly steamed some of these greens especially when you are in a hurry and or if you don't like eating raw vegetables.

Long Lived

Most people try hard to live a little longer. They want to extend their life to spend more time with family, friends, and doing the things they love. Staying healthy and active can play a huge role in extending one's life, but so can a few other things. Here's a list of things you can do to add a few years on to your life to help maximize your time and enjoyment.

Building strong social networks has proven to be a great way to extend lives. In fact, some research shows that people with a large group of friends outlive those who don't by a substantial margin! Australian researchers looked at a group of males in their 70s and noticed that the ones with more people in their lives lived longer. So what can you do? Go out and try to meet more people. Introduce yourself to neighbors you've yet to meet, say "hi" to the people you always see at the grocery store or stick around to talk to the people in class after yoga.

It's very clear that what you eat has an important impact on your longevity as well. The healthier you eat, the less likely you are to develop the wide array of diseases that are associated with being overweight or obese. Furthermore, a nutrient dense diet provides your body with the defense mechanisms to protect it from viruses and other infections.

Some studies, shown that eating specific foods in certain forms and quantities can extend life. For example, an Italian study found people who eat one cup of raw vegetables every day can extend their lives by up to two years. Additionally, they learned that eating a two ounce serving of nuts five times per week could greatly reduce the chance of suffering fatal disease.

To get your raw veggies, simply cut up some raw peppers, carrots, or broccoli and put them in a salad or plastic bag for a quick snack at work. It really couldn't be any easier. When you're selecting your nuts, make sure they are raw, unsalted, and not covered in chocolate or any other kind of coating! The more stuff that's added, the less nutritious they are!

These are only a few things that can help you extend your life. Keeping active, healthy, and maintaining a positive attitude are also helpful in living a longer, happier, and more fulfilling life. Ultimately, the key is to find ways to feel good and enjoy yourself. After all, when you're feeling good you have more reason to stick around!

Have a healthy day.

How health Friendly Are The Foods You Eat?

We all Know that we dare not survive without food, but for the most part many of us do not know the ones that are actually hurting us. However, in most cases we will know that we are not feeling our very best in our health even though we are doing everything we can to eat the right kind of diet.
With that being said, for many people, eating the wrong foods or wrong combination of foods can indeed be a disaster.  take a keen look at these experiences people have had by being ignorant to their food sensitivities.
·         One woman was in a daze for 39 years, until she stopped eating an everyday food and “woke up” to find herself alive and aware. They called her brain damaged but it was just ordinary foodsinflaming her brain tissues, until she couldn’t think straight.
·         A man had chronic rhinitis which was finally diagnosed as a potato allergy. A few days after eating the last potato, he sniffed freely for the first time in over 20 years!
·         Another woman had 63 years of migraine misery, only to find it was a milk allergy.
·         A boy had epileptic fits if he ate carrot or anything from the same food family (celery, parsnip, parsley, dill etc).  Another man had epilepsy from wheat—he got his driving license back. There were no more attacks when he stopped eating this one food.
·         A woman had over 20 years of bloody diarrhoea from colitis, only to find it was a lettuce allergy. She has been eating “healthy” salads, which nearly killed her.
Think again; this is NOT about ‘junk food’.
All these reactions came from whole organic foods but the reality is that foods can be very harsh on the body systems at times. And the worst part is not knowing which foods are causing such havoc on our health and well being. Most importantly, is to find out which ones aren't safe for you and eliminate them.
There is a book titled "Diet Wise" written by  Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby MD, the world’s “Number One Allergy Detective”.  All these amazing stories and thousands more like them, are from his case files. If you read this book then you will be more alerted to the dangers of food allergies/sensitivities.
Everybody eating plan is ideal and unique to them.  But it's advisable to seek information and make sure to inform your health providers if you don't feel well after consuming certain foods.

Have a great day!

Healthy dieting

Dieting is hard. It's hard because it usually requires a whole lifestyle change. It means you'll probably be cooking at home more, sacrificing the flavors and treats you enjoy most, and educating yourself about all the other healthy food options that exist. Taking the first steps are difficult, but by sticking to it and making an effort to learn about food, how to make it healthy and delicious, and all the options you have, it becomes far easier to make the transition in your lifestyle.

One thing that's important to keep in mind, however, is that a specific diet plan won't work for everybody when it comes to weight loss. Yes, eating a healthy balanced diet will always yield positive effects, but for those looking to drop a little extra weight, it really takes experimentation to learn what works for your individual case.

For example, some people respond well to a high-fat/high-protein diet but it can result in weight gain for others. Some people do well with high carbohydrate diets, and others respond well to a traditional macronutrient split. Most adults should try and consume at least 10-35% of their calories from protein, 45-65% from carbohydrates, and 20-35% from fats.

Therefore improving your health and losing weight with proper nutrition is only possible by taking the first step. Improve the quality of the food you eat, continue to learn, and you can adjust the details as you move forward.

Have a great day.

Need 20/20 Vision?

It is said that every 12 minutes, one Canadian starts  losing their eyesight but it is also noted that 75% of vision loss is preventable.  For many people however, start losing their vision at the age of 50.

You could be out driving one night and suddenly notice that there is a struggle to see the lines in the street, or the traffic lights and signs aren't crystal clear as before.  In fact, night vision concerns can be very debilitating for many.  Missing out on your favourite movies or other social events but its a compromise you don't have to accept.

Blue berries and cranberries, a natural cousin to 'Black Currant' is a very potent antioxidant that has reportedly improve night vision in a very short period of time.

Black currant contains anthocyanosides and other flavonoids, which also help improve circulation to and within the eyes.

Multiple studies have also reported that black currant can help people adjust quickly to see an illuminated object in a dark room.  In fact, it doesn't take long to build in your system so you could see improvement in very little time.

Vinegar, Very Medicinal

Worrying about blood sugar levels?  Take vinegar.  It was confirmed in a study done at the Arizona State University and was reported in the Journal of Functional Foods that consuming vinegar could help manage and reduce blood sugar levels.

It is also noted that vinegar continues to put forth a growing list of undeniable health benefits.  This includes: A natural fat burner, reduces salt levels in foods and a natural way to help manage blood sugar levels.

Researchers found that the subjects who consumed 8oz of apple cider vinegar drink for 12 weeks, had a significant reduction in blood sugar levels compared to the control group who had one vinegar pill twice a day for 12 weeks.

I will conclude by saying that, if you purposefully integrate vinegar into your daily food intake, for example, use vinegar for your salad dressing instead of  the standard salad dressing, a small amount in a glass of water before a meal etc. It is very likely you will notice a considerate reduction in your blood glucose concentration in both those diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and those at risk for this disease.

Should US Hit Syria?

With  this situation in Syria, i am emotionally moved to see the loss of dignity and injustice happening to human lives in Syria. This is such a horrible thing for adults and children to endure. Furthermore, most of the time in these so-called civil wars, sadly, the innocent people are the target to be victimized and that is a tragedy for leaders of these countries to stand back and watch such cruel violation on their civilians whom they should be protecting in the first place.

Having said that, i do think that President Obama should rethink his plan of action to strike Syria. I also think that we in the west should stop wasting billions of dollars on these war weary countries because, they have been warring not three years now but for centuries. Just take a look in the bible, there was constant unrest among them from those days; so how on earth any one country (US) can change such crisis?  Now, i do agree that everyone cannot just sit back and do nothing to save these children and innocent adults, its just wrong with what w are witnessing every day in the media on the issues on the ground.

However, this chemical war on people in Syria could be very well a broader psychological issue. In other words, is it a non-verbal warning to the west, is it an out-right message of what they are capable of for anyone in the west to dare their political endeavor?  Well, no one knows for sure what this all mean but for sure, this is a reality of what politics can do when given in the hands of cruel leaders.

Having said that, since they cannot be trusted, they do not tell the truth whenever a crisis arises, let those leaders clean up their own mistakes using their own resources. Here's what is possible to happen if US not careful. For the most part, all the other ally are holding back from getting involved so, if US go on their own, exhaust their resources and the worst scenario evolve, then the middle east will end up with more power, more resources to salvage the west.

That is why i think the US should stay out of attacking Syria and find a different diplomacy to ascertain that human lives be protected. On the other hand, i believe that the US has the global interest and safety in mind so, no part of this is easy, it's a troubling situation to navigate through when so much is at stakes while other world leaders on the stand-off.

What do you think about this situation? Let me hear your comment below and what you would suggest if you had the opportunity to do so..

Have a great day!
