Pomegranate May Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease

ENGLAND —A recent study conducted at the University of Huddersfield and published inMolecular Nutrition and Food Research found that consuming pomegranates could help fight off Alzheimer’s disease.
It is noted that more than 44 million people throughout the world suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, and this number is expected to grow into the future.
The study analyzed the health benefits associated with consuming different fruits, especially pomegranate.
The team found an antioxidant within pomegranates, called punicalagin helps reduce inflammation in your brain cells. Inflammation in these brain cells has been proven to be one of the lead causes of Alzheimer’s disease.
According to lead author, Dr. Olumayokun Olajide the majority of this powerful antioxidant is found in the outer layers of the fruit. He also noted that you could receive these health benefits by consuming 100 percent pomegranate juice.
If you are interested in preventing Alzheimer’s disease, you might want to consider adding pomegranate to your diet.
