When you are young and vibrant, the last thing you think about, is your brain health and that might be the very reason why as we age and the symptoms of cognitive decline alert us, it can be very frightening. But it doesn't have to be that way at all.
No one wants to lose their memory and mental abilities to cognitive decline if we can humanly avoid such demise. The current statistics on cognitive decline in this country is believed that 1 in 8 Americans by the age 65, will suffer from cognitive decline and by age 80, 1 in 2 will, that's troubling.
What i will say here is, based on the various research i have done, simply indicate that we must be vigilant with our health matters by doing all we can to 'prevent cognitive decline' instead of trying to cure it if it does occur. How?
There are some easy and simple ways to keep our brain sharp and healthy. Do this by keeping our systems clear of excessive inflammation buid-up, reduce refined foods intake, make every effort to eat high fibre foods and maintain an active life-style. The brain is a fatty organ so it's safe to ingest good oils including coconut oil and virgin olive oil.
On the other hand, for centuries, one of the the main spices used in India is Turmeric, and is widely used in many of their appetising dishes.
It is scientifically prov en that the curcumin in turmeric is an antioxidant compound that is a natural brain protecting substance, it is also good for liver health. It is noted that India has the lowest statistics of cognitive decline worldwide.
As usual, I do like to keep it simple to avoid too much stress. There are turmeric, curcumin and curry powder. In many cases, they are all combined and can be found separately. However, to find the genuine curcumin can be a challenge but very possible. There are capsules on the market as a dietary supplement. Hot drinks can be made with these spices such as: broths adding garlic chives and noodles, teas and lots of tasty dishes.
Finally, there is a very good chance that by using this powerful spice 'curcumin' frequently, not just your brain but your overall health will be greatly benefitted for sure.
Have a healthy Day!
