Black Beans.
Many people tend not to use 'Black Beans', maybe they are not sure how to use it or may not know about the very delicious dishes that can be made from it. First of all, black beans are packed with healthy nutrients including iron and protein. For the most part, Vegans love it.
I have just finished cooking a pot of black beans soup. Here's how i made mine:
1cup of dried black beans, salt, pepper, cloves, 2cloves of chopped garlic, thyme, dried oregano, dried basil, i chopped onions, any meat of choice, or none, coconut cream or oil, potatoes, yams, spelt flour dumplings and corn on the cub.
Wash black beans cook until soft, add cloves, potatoes, yams, cut corn on the cub smaller and add dumplings. When close to cook, add all your herbs, pepper and salt to taste lower heat and simmer for another 10-15mins.
This is a healthy and filling dish on its own, but if you like, you can have a nice slice of toasted whole grain Italian bread with olive oil on it.
Please note, if you want beef or chicken in your soup you would have added that with the beans before they were fully cooked. However, if no meat, the coconut cream or oil is good enough.
Enjoy, and have a healthy day!!

Genesis Of your Disease Cont'd
As per previous post on the possible 'Genesis of Your Disease'. If you take a look at the real issues around us at the many diseases noted in our society, it is quite alarming and many of these can be easily avoided for the most part. You will understand how to avoid at least some of these illnesses by continue reading. Lets look at:
The kitchen for instance, might be the most popular place in the house to foster bacteria and the culprits are the sinks, counters, coffee-makers, blenders, juicers, stoves, fridge and crisper's etc. You may wash the sinks and counters with soap and water but can still be contaminated with left-over foods, juices and meat products behind, so make sure every trace of food is washed away.
Don't be surprised, but the warm, damp and dark climate is the reservoir of your coffee maker and could be the hiding place for bacteria and mold to grow. This nice brew of coffee can no doubt make you very ill. I would suggest you clean it at least once per week depending how often its used per day. Vinegar or baking soda are very safe to clean. be sure to rinse well after cleaning.
For stoves and counters can be cleaned with the baking soda as well. I tend to do my cleaning after all cooking is completed for the day.
Changing bedding's twice per week is usually recommended but might not be realistic for many people but at least once per week should be a regular practise especially for those who are night-sweaters. In that case, pillow cases can be changed every few days.
Finally, being vigilant of these very important areas of your home is in no doubt essential to your overall health and wellness as a family and the avoidance of being seriously ill.

Is Your Home The Genesis of Your Disease?
Sometimes when one thinks of some dirty, bacteria and germ laden-places, the first places you might instantly think of are side-walks, hand railings, door-knobs etc. It might surprise you however, that your own home may be carrying even worst bacteria that these places mentioned above.
That doesn't suggests you haven't worked hard enough to keep your home hygienically clean as possible.
Ironically, bacteria-havens are almost impossible to avoid totally. Bacteria is always around but if left unattended for too long can indeed make you very ill. In many cases can cause upset stomach, respiratory problems, continuous sneezing, diarrhoea and so on. Not in all instances these health issues stem from food and rag-weed allergies but could be the bacteria built-up in the bath-room, living room, kitchen and anywhere else in the house, even among dirty laundry.
You might ask, How can public places more clean than where you live? Did you know that most of these public places are cleaned with some of the most powerful disinfectant known to mankind? And are cleaned repeatedly in a given day. Why? Because these areas are used very often by many people.
In this way, the bacteria has a short time to spread before killed and cleaned away. Stay tuned for continuation of part two, it will blow your mind.

DISGUSTING PSORIASIS
Psoriasis is a horrible disease and the guesome reality is that there is no known conventional cure. From my experience and study of this disease mainly a skin condition, Plague Psoriasis is the most common and frequently affects the scalp, elbows, knees and feet. It is noted that about 80-90% of people suffer from this type of psoriasis.
Although psoriasis is often described as a skin condition, it is moreso an autoimmune issue or better said, the immune system alters the growth of the skin cells cycle causing the cells to grow faster. The normal cycle should be no earlier than 28-30 days to mature. The cells then move along to the surface of the skin to shed from the body. When the cells get to the surface, it sheds and the cycle repeats and new cells develop. Ususlly, skin cells that are affected by psoriasis, will trigger by the immune system to mature faster and can be as early as four to six days then move to the skin surface.
At this point, shedding is slower, skin cells build up, thus, resulting with irritation and rash-like on skin surface. Many people experience mild or moderate psoriasis, while others experience severe kinds. The severe psoriasis can affect up to 15-20% of the body.
People from all race and gender, young or advanced age group can be affected by psoriasis, however, it is not contagious. In other words, psoriasis cannot pass from one person to the other.
Have you had experiences with psoriasis or know someone else who does? Please let me know, I would love to hear from you and how you manage such disgusting plague.
Have a healthy day!!

Sugar Alternatives? Stevia/Honey
It is a fact that in order to keep blood sugar from spiking is one of the key factors to cutting flabs and keep them off. Don't i know it's easier said than done?
Since for the most part, we all get sweet cravings whether 'sometimes' or 'most of the time', we do experience it. And for many people, searching for an alternative to sugar can be daunting at times, hence, turn to 'fake sugars' such as: Aspartame, sucralose and saccharine and are sometimes referred to as 'diet sugars'. I would suggest that you steer clear of them. These can not only cause you to gain more weight, but have also linked to many diseases including cancer, heart diseases and diabetes. For many people, however, Honey and Stevia are commonly relied on in wake of avoiding some of these dangerous alternatives.
Now, bear in mind that Stevia is a plant from South America, and is known to have two parts to it. While some people may be disappointed with a bitter after taste but it is uncertain how much is being used at a given time to those having the lingering bitter after taste. Be informed that not all Honey/Stevia are 100% genuine on the market. Remember i said earlier that this stevia is a plant. Well, this plant has two parts to it: Rebaudioside and Stevioside.
While both parts can produce a bitter aftertaste for some people, rebaudioside contains the least and is hardly detectable. Stevioside on its own can be more bitter. In my experience, the genuine liquid stevia doesn't need a lot to get desired sweetness for a drink, however, there is stevia in powder form that can be used for baking pastries etc.
On the other hand, honey is a well known sweetner product and is much easier to obtain from most grocery stores.
Finally, let me say that, one must be vigilant when trying to purchase either of these sweatners such as Stevia or Honey whether or not you are really getting the genuine product.

Excessive Toxins are'nt needed
There is a growing health risk that consumers face everyday. More and more of the over the counter health and cosmetic products we buy are loaded with all kinds of dangerous ingredients and there is little regulation of them.
According to the Global Healing Centre:
'Government regulations allow virtually any ingredient to be used in the manufacture of products that we use daily on our skin, hair, and nails, and in the water we drink.
The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) establishes the regulations and standards in the United States regarding the manufacture of drugs & foods'.
In my opinion, i think the problem is that they do not pay as much attention to skin care and other health products as they should, hence, allowing some very harmful chemicals to be used in creating almost every product that is mass marketed.
In my assessment, i have found that some of the harmful ingredients that are used frequently in manufacturing the most common non-organic health products are:
· Mercury
· Dioxane
· Nitrosamines
· DEA
· Cyclomethicone
· Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
· Alcohol, Isopropyl (SD-40)
· Polyethylene Glycol
· Polyethylene eth-
Most of these compounds however, are absorbed easily by the skin, yet the body has no way of ridding itself of them. The toxins remain in your intestine and eventually get spread through the body and can damage organs and cause more harm than good
Finally, i think its always a good idea to know what is the ingredients in any product before consumption. whether orally or topically. We will never be able to live toxin-free since we breathe it everyday but at least, we can be proactive in the ones we have control to avoid excess.
Have a healthy day!

Easily Panic?
When people hurt themselves, the common reaction is panic. It's out of the ordinary, shocking, and, more often than not, it hurts. The sight of blood or a burn is nobody's idea of a good time. Although each of these injuries can be serious, in most cases they aren't.
Panic usually leads to one of two things: calling an Ambulance/EMT or driving to the ER. When you get there, you usually end up spending hours in an overcrowded waiting room wasting the day away in a boiling kettle of frustration. Hospitals are overworked, understaffed and take patients on a priority basis. If you're spending a lot of time sitting in a waiting room, you can bet you probably don't need to be there in the first place.
The sight of blood is no need for alarm and definitely not a reason to rush to the hospital. It's unlikely they'll do any more than you can do by yourself, in the safe and clean comforts of your own home. The first thing to do when you get cut is to apply a clean towel, napkin, or piece of gauze and apply pressure to the injury. Doing so cuts off running and allows the blood to begin clotting-your body's natural response to stop bleeding. If the cut has occurred to a limb, bring it above your heart to limit blood flow. For a cut to the arm, raise it above your head and lay on the couch or sit with your leg elevated if cut below the torso.
If the blood comes through the first layer of towel or whatever you've applied, simply add another. Don't pull off the existing layer because it will disturb the clot and bleeding will worsen. It can take up to 20 minutes for a cut to clot, so don't worry if it doesn't stop immediately.
In the case where the blood is squirting and bright red, you've likely hit an artery. In this case, apply pressure above the cut, close to the bone, and get to a hospital. Also, if the cut leaves you feeling thirsty or cold, call an Ambulance/EMT
Have a safe and healthy day.

Can Water Help Weight Loss?
For many years its been doccumented by researchers that dieters who drink more water
have greater success with weight loss and or tied to greater weight loss.
In Fact, one of the studies quite recent found that older adults who drank two cups of water before each meal lost about 4 pounds more than the group that did not drink extra water.
It is noted also, that in the United States on average people drink about 400-500 calories from other beverages. This is one reason why replacing those with water could help you lose weight. It is also noted that consuming extra water daily can help minimize feelings of hunger. Hence, less cravings then?
According to the Institute of Medicine , adults should consume about 91 ounces of water daily. This total can come from foods, plain water, or other beverages.
If you are interested in losing more weight, you might want to consider drinking more water throughout the day. For those who drink 3-4 cups of herbal teas in a given day will most certainly doing some good right there. Cheers!
Have a joyful and healthy day.

Being healthy, Is it Effortless?
This is absolutely true when it comes to exercise and nutrition. Drastic changes to a nutrition or exercise routine can cause more harm than good, and are often quite unsustainable.
People who do diligent research on health matters, are privy to a lot of information about general health, nutrition, and exercise. However, all of this information can be overwhelming at times and finding a way to take advantage of it the best way possible is very important. For example, making an extreme change to your diet or trying an exercise routine can be harmful if done too rapidly.
The best way to make improvements to your health is to phase them in over time, instead of jumping into a program head-first without really knowing what you're doing.
When it comes to diet, for example, start small. Start by making a few changes to a couple of meals, while still maintaining some of your regular foods. This not only helps you make the transition, but makes it far more comfortable and sustainable.
It will be much easier and more natural to eat healthier without reverting back to your old bad habits.
The same goes for exercise especially if you've been rather inactive for an extended period. Easing into it is essential for safety and optimal results, so start light and do moderate sessions a couple of time a week. Don't push yourself too hard as your body adapts, instead focusing on proper form and technique. As you progress, you can increase the intensity and continue from there.
If you jump in at full speed however, you will likely burn out quickly, experience unnecessary pain, and put yourself at a greater risk for injury. Have a warm and healthy day.
Any suggestions or feed-back out there from my visitors? Would love to hear from you. Cheers!

Just One Beer!
A Beer a Day Keeps the Doctor Away?
Here's a piece of information some of you might like to hear: a beer a day could keep the doctor away.
A recent report in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology indicates people who drink beer have a 41% lower chance of developing and passing kidney stones. On the other hand, people who drink sugary colas are 23% more likely to experience that uncomfortable condition, while those who drank sugar sweetened non-cola drinks had a 33% higher risk. The study followed 194,095 adults for eight years. They were mostly middle aged and had never experienced kidney stones when it began. 4,462 developed them during the duration, and each participant was surveyed about the beverages they drank and at what frequency.
Kidney stones are one of the most the most common urinary tract disorders, affecting one in 11 Americans. Men get them more than women but women experience them, too. They are also more likely to affect overweight people.
They result from a high concentration of substances, like calcium or uric acid, in urine. These high concentrations can form solid stones, sometimes as a big as a golf ball, and are passed through urination. On the other hand, kidney stones can be very small, go unnoticed and pass without pain. A golf ball sized kidney stone, however, will be very painful.
Fluid intake is one of the best ways to prevent kidney stones but clearly it also depends on what you're drinking. Sugary colas and sodas greatly increased risk, while other beverages substantially lowered kidney stone risk. Here are a few of the top ranked beverages to reduce the risk of kidney stones:
· Caffeinated coffee reduced the risk by 26%
· Decaffeinated coffee reduced risk by 16%
· Tea reduced risk by 11%
· Red wine reduced risk by 31%
· White wine reduced risk by 33%
· Orange juice reduced risk by 12%
· Beer reduced risk by 41%
Preventative measures include reducing sodium intake, increasing fluids and now increasing certain types of fluids. Water is the easiest and healthiest way to increase fluids but it's nice to see there are other options that produce some pretty strong results. Including a morning coffee or an evening drink into your daily routine can not only bring a little enjoyment, but it can also make you healthier! Just remember not to overdo it. Have a healthy day!
Is your Body speaking?
What Your Body is Dying to Tell You
Your body is a very unique and intelligent organism. It notifies you when something is wrong and reminds you when it needs a little something to make you feel good. It prompts you to eat, hydrate, sleep and a do a number of other things to ensure it is functioning as well as possible.
Sometimes, however, your body sends subtle signs to indicate you may be falling behind or that you need to make some changes. Unfortunately, these things often go unnoticed or are brushed off as normal. This can have to do with a lack of education or even a total lack of awareness of what's going on. Ignoring the warning signs your body is sending can be problematic and cause more serious health problems.
Your body responds to various stresses, deficiencies, and other conditions in a number of ways, and does so demonstratively. The key is to know what to look for. Here are a few signs your body will show you that you may need to improve your health.
One of the ways your body tells you you're too stressed is limiting sleep. Cortisol, the stress hormone, should be lowest at night when your body prepares to relax and recharge. However, if cortisol levels remain high it can be very difficult to catch a good session of shuteye. Many cases of insomnia are tied to high cortisol levels. When stress levels are high and sleep is deprived, your immune system is working overtime, making it very easy for you to get sick.
Finally, although lack of sleep is typically attributed to feeling tired, there are other factors at work that lead to fatigue. If you're constantly lacking energy and feeling fatigued, it could be your body's way of telling you it's under too much stress. Poor diet, lack of exercise, lifestyle choices like smoking and drinking, or other factors that require your immune system to work overtime, can all contribute to chronic fatigue. Always listen to what your body is saying, you can save your life by doing so. Have a healthy day.
